Planning Your Bridal Makeup

Your wedding day is the most photographed day of your life, and you want to look good! Here are some tips to help while planning your bridal makeup:

A natural look might be what you’re going for. You are beautiful just the way you are! If minimal or even no makeup is the look that makes you the most comfortable, we applaud that. While planning what or what not to wear, consider lighting and photography, and what kinds of makeup or moisturizers will make you look as beautiful on the outside as you feel on the inside.

On the other hand, maybe glam is your way to go. Embrace the art of makeup and find something that makes you feel good! In general, avoid heavy makeup or so drastically changing your look that you leave people wondering if that is, indeed, you at the altar. Pick styles that highlight your best features.

No matter what look you choose, be sure to try it out well in advance of your wedding. Practice makes perfect! Make sure the look you envision is right for you. Test your products as well. Will your foundation look cakey on camera? Will your eyeshadow stay put through an all-night party? Trusting in your makeup makes your wedding day less stressful.

You may want to consult with a licensed beauty professional before your wedding. If this sounds like a good idea but is out of your budget, consider getting a free consultation at the cosmetics counter of a nearby department store. That way, you will get ideas and advice on products, shades and techniques, but no added expense.

Whatever you decide, make it your own. This is your day and your look - make it your own kind of beautiful!
